Big ol Bus Band
The Big Ol Bus Band is on a grand roots based musical odyssey that will see them make their way to the far corners of Australia. With double bass occy strapped to the roof and four horns in the back seat, the ten musicians make for a rollicking musical ride with their highly infectious performance of swing and new orleans inspired original songs.
Band leader Hughie has worn out numerous pairs of boots on the backroads between Broken Hill, Sydney and Nashville – where the Big Ol Bus Band first struck up and rolled in the U.S. This Australian chapter of the band carries performers with their own credentials, including credits with Keith Urban, Lou Rawls, Smokey Robinson,
INXS, Human Nature, Doobie Brothers, Jimmy Barnes, James Morrison and more.
The band of up to 10 musicians play a romped up mix of both original and retro swing / new orleans inspired tunes. Sometimes jumping on board with them is Queen of Australian swing and burlesque dance Kelly Ann Doll, and her partner. A 57 seater vintage 'big ol bus' gets the band around - it was a purchase of love and of transport logistics.

Skipping Girl Vinegar
In amongst the madness and fervor that has been the last four years, Melbournian five-piece Skipping Girl Vinegar have become one of Australia’s most talked about bands. Comprising of brother/sister duo Mark and Sare Lang and their respective childhood friends Chris Helm, Amanthi Lynch & Kelly Lane, their debut single One Chance was the Australian iTunes ’single of the week’, added to high-rotation on Triple J and championed by major alternative and ABC radio nationwide.
The animated clip for ‘One Chance’ also received critical acclaim with Rage featuring it as their first ever ‘indie clip of the week’ and JTV featuring it as their “new clip of the week” before it then charted in their Top 20. They were highlighted in Triple J’s Oz Music month as a ‘next crop’ artist.

Juzzie was the crowd favourite at Curryfest 2011, it would have been wrong not to get him back Juzzie Smith’s music has the feeling of freedom pulsing from within it. As you listen you feel the joy and playfulness that makes Juzzie so loved by people of all ages and from all walks of life. Using a combination of keyboard, guitars, harmonica and percussion (all played with mind-blowing mastery by Juzzie) his unique music embraces elements of the blues, folk, groove and roots.
But above all its feel-good. Taking Time Out is the most honest album you will ever come across. As Juzzie grows so does his music in a beautiful way. The album marks the journey of this virtuoso music man’s quest to find integrity, love and balance in his art and life. As a young father and tired of smoke-filled late nights on the pub circuit Juzzie made a conscious decision to take his music to the people and the streets, by busking mostly at local markets on NSW north coast. Each time he played, the crowds got bigger. He has gone on to become a true grassroots phenomenon, selling thousands of CDs, and is now a festival circuit favourite, loved for his energetic and awe-inspiring live performances.
