The
Woolgoolga Curryfest is an amazing annual
signature event bringing thousands together to celebrate
the cultural diversity of this scenic seaside
village. The curry theme links our major
ethnic group, the Sikh Indians (largest regional Sikh
settlement in Australia) as well as representations from
many other groups from Germany, Thailand, Holland,
England, and Scotland. The main event will
be staged on Saturday 17th April, 2010. Click here >>

more. Entertainment · As
well as a range of international cuisine featuring
the curry theme, there will be music, dance
and entertainment from many cultural groups
who have performed nationally and
internationally. · We will also be staging
the finals for our FutureStar Competition
at Curryfest 2010. · Along with this
exciting entertainment schedule we have
applied to council to close the main street of
Woolgoolga so we can hold a national racing
bike competition in the main street which will
bring an extra 2000 spectators and create an
atmosphere like no other. · A major factor
in numbers expected this year is the
Sikh Games also held in Woolgoolga over the
same Easter weekend. This is expected to
draw an additional 10,000 competitors and
spectators in to the area. Festival
Organisers The festival is a community-run,
non-profit incorporated organisation, which is a
sub-committee of the Woolgoolga Chamber of Commerce,
Industry and Tourism, who are the major underwriters of
funding and structure. This year Business Event Productions
will be event mangers for the festival. (www.b-e-p.com.au)
Demographics Last year approximately
10,000 people enjoyed the 3rd annual Woolgoolga
Curryfest. In only its fourth year we expect in
excess of 10,000 people. Our advertising and marketing
will be aimed at attracting visitors from the adjacent
regional areas of Coffs Harbour 80,000, Grafton 50,000
and Armidale 30,000. Our own research shows that we are
receiving repeat visitations from Sydney and Brisbane.
Woolgoolga is about half way between Sydney and Brisbane
on the Pacific Highway. A major factor in
numbers expected this year is the Sikh Games also
held in Woolgoolga over the same Easter weekend. This is
expected to draw an additional 10,000 competitors and
spectators in to the area.
